Things have been busy here at CJTT and even in all of our personal lives too. Even though we can all get extremely busy remember to make time for the ones that matter in our lives. Take a few minutes to enjoy the window displays that our local merchants have put together. Take two extra seconds to say thank you to the cashier that rung up our purchase. And let's remember the real reason for the season.
Cheers!

Simple Things
The Christmas Season is in full swing. Many times we get caught up in the season and think we need to go all out when entertaining or even gift giving.
Over the past few years, my family and I have cut back on gift giving. Our former intern mentioned to me that this year her family wouldn't be exchanging gifts at all, but rather just the time as a family.
Back in the summer, three of of us co workers here at CJTT got together a couple times for dinner. It was simple, and we all enjoyed some good conservation. What stuck with me was how much fun we had and it was something so simple.
This Christmas Season remember its not about "how much" but about "time well spent"
Cheers!

Job Loss
Recently a friend of mine lost their job. You may have gone through a similar situation. I remember being downsized back in 2009.
Job loss is a sensitive issue with many people. I think the hardest part of any job loss is how people react. People often "don't know what to say" so they completely ignore the person who lost their job. The simple fact? We don't need to say anything. We just need to listen. That person who lost their job is experiencing a wave of emotions that just need to be let out and a listening ear helps,.
If you know someone who has lost a job, lend a listening ear, take them out for coffee or even send a quick message saying they are in their thoughts. A simple act of kindness can go along way during a job loss.
Cheers

"Hello"
Shika here and I found this very cool! I found this article on the net......
A Swedish housing company announced a $137,000 campaign aimed at encouraging neighbors to greet one another.
The "Say Hi" campaign, announced by the MKB municipal housing company in Malmo, includes a brochure distributed to tenants with instructions on how to make small talk with neighbors, Swedish news agency TT reported Monday.
The pamphlet advises neighbors to prepare open-ended greetings and avoid yes-or-no questions.
However, MKB spokesperson Margaretha Soderstrom said lengthy conversations are not always required.
"It's sometimes enough to smile, nod a little, or make a small gesture," she said. "Basically, it's about noticing one another and not averting your glance when meeting others."
Do you talk to your neighbors? In the this age of social media the simple "Hello" is almost forgotten! Say hi to someone today, and if someone says hi to you, don't be scared, say hi back....a simple "hello" can make anyones day. :)

Fall Beauty
Last weekend I was able to head out and take some fall pictures. I encourage everyone to take time out of their busy schedule, put the cell phone/tablet down and enjoy the amazing beauty we have in our area!

Giving Back
I've always been blessed to have food on my plate and a roof over my head. Before I joined the CJTT family I was working at a station in Brantford, and was downsized. Fortunately I was able to find work outside of radio, but when I moved up here I was beyond blessed with people helping me. In turn I try to help others. Whenever I go grocery shopping I try to pick up an extra item for the food bank. This weekend the Community is holding a Food Bank Drive on Saturday from 10 to 4 p.m. I encourage people to give. So often we get wrapped up in our own problems we forget there's needs in our own community. Even providing 1 item a week will go along way!
Cheers!

To you today is Tuesday. Or maybe you're an over-achiever and today is (quite correctly) Tuesday, September 25, 2012AD. But did you know that it's also one of my favourite days on the musical calendar? ONE-HIT WONDER DAY!!!!!
Think about all the great (some not-so-much) songs that seemed to be everywhere for 15 minutes and then *poof* were gone. Jesus Jones "Right Here Right Now". EMF "Unbelievable". Lou Bega "Mambo #5" and sure to be joined soon by Psy's "Gangnum Style" (he's singing in Korean for those of you scoring at home). Face it, love em or hate em, one-hit wonders are sometimes the most easily recognized songs. If you want a welcome distraction at some point today check out www.onehitwondercentral.com.
Happy listening.

Something to Think About
How true!!! Sometimes we need to step back and look at the situation for what its worth. Is it really worth getting your knickers in a knot and walking funny?? Life is short and make every day count!
